Pilgrims Close Protection courses cover the knowledge and skills required to operate in the private sector as a Close Protection Operative. The course at Pilgrims Academy is an intensive 20 day programme which includes First Aid at Work.
Theoretical and practical assessments will be conducted to ensure you are trained to the highest Pilgrims standards as a Close Protection Operative (CPO). Upon completion of your Close Protection Course, you will eligible for licensing as a professional Close Protection Operative under the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
Candidates will be trained by highly skilled and experienced close protection operatives who have operated in the executive world and in hostile operations overseas. Pilgrims CP qualification is designed for those wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as Close Protection Operatives (CPO).
Based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry, and the SIA, who regulate the private security industry, the objective of the qualification is to prepare candidates for employment as Close Protection Operatives (CPO).

As well as the core competencies below, Pilgrims provides as an integral part of the course, Hostile Environment module, essential for Close Protection Operators (HECPO) operating in challenging theatres abroad. These competencies are put into practice in real time scenarios in the Training town with the use of role players, our outside areas to conduct driving skills, constant live missions with the use of state of the art Laser weapon systems in the training town and on the outside Dry training location.
